Do you want to make a difference in the life of a student? Believe it or not, teachers request mentors for their students as often as they request subject matter tutors. To reach their full potential, young people need to know: there is someone who is interested in how they’re feeling; there is someone who is interested in what they’re doing; and there is someone who truly cares about them.
Mentors are needed in San Francisco public schools at all grade levels. The commitment is only one hour per week for one year. Many of our mentors find that meeting their buddy over lunch hour, or before or after school, works really well. Only three hours of training is necessary; a sincere desire to help others is the most important requirement.
Please register for an upcoming training through the San Francisco Education Fund website.
