Second Chance Thrift

Profits of Second Chance Thrift Shoppe go toward vocational and residential services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Garden Center Services.

We are looking for entergetic folks who would like to join our fun group and help us run the best thrift shop around! Volunteers may help accept donations, test donated electronics, display and tag items for sale, use the sales register, and provide general customer service to our shoppers.

Description

Since 1956, Garden Center has been a leader in human services by helping persons with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental disabilities enjoy lives of independence through therapeutic, residential, and vocational supports.

Garden Center Services serves 150 individuals with developmental disabilities through residential and vocational services. By managing 11 residences: 10 group homes, known as Community-Integrated Living Arrangements (CILAs) and 1 Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) that include nursing services for individuals with developmental disabilities who have more medically-based needs, Garden Center is able to help individuals with developmental disabilities achieve independent living. Vocational opportunities offered include vocational and life-skills programs, a thriving Thrift Shoppe, and supported employment opportunities throughout the community.
