Home bound folks need our companionship, reassurance, respect and a sense of hope. Too often these are the forgotten members of our community. Do you have 1-2 hours a week to make a difference in a life?
We match volunteers with home bound men and women of all ages. Both volunteers and recipients are interviewed so as the make the best possible match.
Volunteer training is provided with follow-up enrichment meetings quarterly. Flexibility in scheduling visits is available.

Our volunteers strive to foster independence, dignity and well-being for Alameda's homebound neighbors who can benefit from friendship, communication and a caring heart.
Volunteers are matched with interested homebound folks of all ages. We offer a weekly visit of one to two hours with a focus on friendship and well-being of our recipients. Telephone reassurance is often provided as a way of checking in between visits.
Volunteers are given a background check to insure safety of our recipients, and as a way to protect our volunteers.
Training is provided for volunteers as well as quarterly meetings providing enrichment and opportunities to meet and resource other volunteers.
