Why Volunteer with hospice?

Your offer of time and effort will enable someone to feel cared for in the final path of his/her journey of life. You will become part of a friendly & supportive team, increase knowledge in hospice care, and create lasting memories. We're looking for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of the terminally ill and their families. You'll have opportunities to add to the clerical and administrative functions of the program and/or you can join our world class team of physicians, nurses, social workers and chaplains. visiting patients and their families in their homes. You'll also have opportunity to use your unique set of skills to bring comfort and joy to those who need it most. Get started today!

We're looking for people who can visit hospice patients and their families in their homes providing companionship, helping with light household chores, etc. The specific areas for visits are Redlands to the Banning area.

Description

Hospice care is an approach to caring that promotes comfort (i.e. relief of pain and uncomfortable symptoms) instead of curative care. The emphasis of the hospice program is on keeping the patient at home with family and friends as long as possible. The patient, family, and caregivers are treated as one unit of care.


The Hospice team works closely with the patient, family, and caregivers to ensure comfort measures for pain / symptom control, emotional, and spiritual support.
