The Therapeutic Mentoring Program is recruiting mentors in Anne Arundel County. We are a one-to-one, strength-based mentoring service provided by volunteer mentors working with identified youth receiving mental health treatment at Catholic Charities. Founded in 1998, the program matches youth, ages 9 to 17, with adult mentors. Orientation, training, and support is provided by our professional volunteer team and clinical staff. Currently, the program is an in-person mentoring model, but may occasionally return to virtual mentoring during COVID outbreaks.
Mentors become a special visitor, a positive role model and a consistent person in a child's life. Children learn that a healthy relationship includes trust and responsibility. We have seen this serious and personal commitment by an adult change a child's life.
