A Board member can be any person 16 and older with a desire to serve the community and make a difference in the live of others. Board memebers contribute to carrying on the mission of the organization by participating in board meetings, serving on committees, attending fundraising and other events. They may also utilize professional skills or talents in program activities with clients, as well as, grant writing and other fundraising initiatives.
Board members are asked to serve a two year term. Persons desiring to serve are asked to complete a board application, supply additional personal and professional informationabout themselves and a Board meeting, prior to the Board's final decision on the application. Selected applicants will be notified via email.
We are looking for enthusiastic, committed people willing to give of thier time and talent.

The mission of the Near Southside Employment Coalition (NSEC) is to equip job seekers with quality training, connection to resources and access to opportunities necessary to obtain employment, leading to stable lives.
Description
The Near Southside Employment is a 501(c)3 nonprofit employment and training agency tha provides the following services at no cost to job seekers 16 and older:
- Direct job placement and referral
- Career assessment and planning
- Resume development and online job search/applications
- Pre-employment skills training
- Social services referral
- Tranportation assistance (bus tickets)
- Lifeskills classes
- Computer skills training
