Thank you for Volunteering at the 5th Annual Escondido Tamale Festival!
This event brings an estimated 12-15,000 attendees, 100 food and craft vendors, Live Music and Performances, Contests, and Fun for all to Grape Day Park in Escondido. While this is fun and exciting event to work, we genuinely need RELIABLE community support volunteers, such as yourself, to help make it a success. The festival itself runs from 11am-5pm, but the majority of volunteers are needed before and after te event to set up as early at 7am and take down until as late as 7pm. Below are a few short descriptions of some of the jobs we need to fill. Note some jobs indicate an age requirement and some may require a short training class on event day.

1.) If you are over under age 16, over 16 or over 21.
2.) What position you prefer (see below)
3.) What hours you are available (start & end time)
4.) Email & Phone# for us to contact you before event
5.) Any issues standing for long periods of time, or handicaps we should know about

SET-UP CREW: 7am - 11am 15-20 volunteers needed
Unload cars/trucks of supplies, set up banners, pop up tents, tables & chairs, assemble cardboard EDCO Trash Cans/Liners
DECORATIONS: 8am - 11am 2 volunteers needed
SIGN HOLDERS: 11am - 3pm 3-6 volunteers needed
GREETERS/BROCHURES: 11am - 4pm 3-6 volunteers needed
- Welcome guests to the park
- Hand out Event Brochures
B&W GARDEN BEER/WINE POURERS: 10am - 5:30pm 3-4 volunteers needed
Beer Wine Garden pourer (must be 21+ & attend event day training class)
B&W GARDEN SECURITY CREW: 10am - 5:30pm 1-2 volunteers needed
(must be 21+ & attend event day training class)
Stand and guard Entrance to Beer & Wine Garden to:
- Confirm only those with wristbands (age 21+) enter garden
- Ensure no one leaves with drink
- No Children in B&W Garden
TAKE-DOWN CREW: 5pm - 7pm 15-20 volunteers needed
Collect all signs and Banners, Take down Pop Up Tents, Tables, Chairs, Decorations, load cars/trucks of supplies
CHILDREN'S CRAFT BOOTH ASSISTANTS: 11am - 5pm 8-10 volunteers needed Age 16+

PLEASE NOTE:
We welcome high school, clubs, college, military and other volunteers in need of volunteer hours and are happy to sign off on hours worked. However, due to the family nature of this event, we are NOT able to accept volunteers in need of fulfilling Court Appointed Service Hours. Thank you for understanding.

Description
The Escondido Downtown Business Association is comprised of volunteers and Downtown Escondido Business owners. Meetings are held with local merchants to discuss and resolve various improvements and issues in the downtown area. Events are held in order to promote the downtown businesses as well as generate funds to improve the downtown area in matters of beautification, aesthetics, lighting, parking, safety, etc. A few of our events include the Escondido Street Festival (Spring), Grand Avenue Festival (Fall), Escondido Tamale Festival, For The Love of Chocolate, Escondido Chocolate Festival and The Wedge, Escondido Cheese Festival.
Community Volunteers are needed from time to time to help with these events. Please contact us to see where you can best be utilized. We're thankful to our volunteers and excited to work with you!
