Volunteer Services provides free transportation to low-income elderly adults and adults with disabilities who can no longer drive or use public transportation to get to their medical appointments.
Volunteer drivers can accept whatever rides they choose that will fit with their schedule. Volunteer drivers are reimbursed for gas mileage. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and must have valid driver's license, a dependable vehicle and auto insurance. Due to the vulnerable population that we serve, volunteers are required to complete an application which asks for 3 references and authorization to run a background check.
Volunteer Services is a department of Catholic Charities Eastern Washington, however we provide assistance to all backgrounds. We provide transportation, housework and yard work services that enable low-income seniors and low-income disabled adults to remain in their own homes with dignity, safety and connection to the community.
