About Faith Food Fridays
Location:
826 SOLANO AVE, VALLEJO, CA 94590, US
Mission Statement
The mission of Faith Food Fridays is to provide encouragement to people struggling economically with three weekly distributions of free food, groceries, and other necessities; and through positive feedback, and resource referrals. An outreach ministry of Faith Bible Church of Vallejo, Faith Food Fridays believes our biblically-directed responsibility is to feed the poor, encourage with Godly love and enable our neighbors to increasingly contribute positively toward their community.
Description
Since June 24, 2011, Faith Food Fridays has provided Vallejo area families and individuals who struggle to provide food for their families with emergency food and groceries every week.
Each week, we serve an average of more than 800 families with food boxes that include fresh fruits and vegetables, meat or protein, bread, and dairy products. Yet most importantly, Faith Food Fridays offers hope to the community - through positive encouragement, and social service referrals.
Recently, Faith Food Fridays has expanded its mission beyond emergency food provider to fighting the underlying causes of hunger, specifically childhood hunger with its "No Child Goes Hungry" program, providing backpacks of food to Vallejo schoolchildren each weekend and a "Learning Community Garden" that teaches parents and children the fun activity of planting and growing their own nutritious fruits and vegetables. To assist with these programs, call (707) 557-7933 or email maryann@faithfoodfridays.com.
Faith Food Fridays partners with the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, Faith Bible Church of Vallejo, and many volunteers who enjoy giving back to their community.
This year, Faith Food Fridays anticipates serving more than 120,000 families representing more than 300,000 individuals. We need your help to do this and your support is vital to this mission.
