One in three Colusa County residents cannot read and write sufficiently in English to carry out day-to-day activities at work and home. Adult Literacy Tutors provide one-on-one, in-person tutoring to adults in their community. Tutors assist adult learners in meeting their personal reading and writing goals such as reading to their children, completing a written driver license exam, creating a resume, or acquiring new computer skills.

We offer tutoring at our libraries in Colusa, Williams, Arbuckle, Grimes, Princeton, Stonyford, and Maxwell.

No previous experience necessary, just a desire to help someone else! Training, support and materials are provided by Literacy Program staff.

The Literacy Program is a free service of the Colusa County Free Library and is paid for with funds from California Library Literacy Services.
