The Museum Store
Discover unique items and bring a little history home with you.

The Museum Store at LancasterHistory is in need of volunteers as Hospitality Greeters. This volunteer position serves as a retail clerk at the Museum Store, and provides visitors with a brief orientation prior to their guided tour of President Buchanan's historic home. In general, the Hospitality Greeter helps the museum's visitors connect with history.

Masks are no longer required while onsite at LancasterHistory.

Visitors who are feeling ill, experiencing flu-like symptoms, or have knowingly been exposed to someone with flu-like symptoms or COVID-19 should not enter the property and are encouraged to stay home and seek medical care.

LancasterHistory.org exists to engage and educate the public about the people, places, and events that shaped Lancaster County within the broader context of the history of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States of America. As custodians of a complex past, we collect, preserve, exhibit, and make accessible materials chronicling Lancaster County's heritage as we seek to engage audiences in multi-layered stories of that past.

Description

Our ten-acre Campus of History features the historic grounds and gardens of President James Buchanan's Wheatland, the Louise Arnold Tanger Arboretum, and the award-winning, and environmentally-sustainable headquarters of LancasterHistory.org. On the Campus of History you will learn about Lancaster County, Pennsylvania-from stories of the Conestoga Indians and the Underground Railroad to the political legacy of James Buchanan and Thaddeus Stevens to the stories of your own family.
