Computer Technician
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula is looking for a Computer Technician to assist with updating our current stock of computers. Many of our computer are out of date, riddled with viruses, or broken. We are seeking a Computer Technician to assess the state of our computers, troubleshoot any issues, and recommend any other solutions if s/he is not able to solve them his/herself. The position is unpaid. We ask for a minimum time commitment of 5 hours per week (this is negotiable).
Responsibilities:
Research grant opportunities
Write and apply to grant opportunities
Write and send press releases
Grant tracking
Complete reports
Develop and execute stewardship tasks
The intern will also assist our Resource Development team with event planning, submitting donation requests, volunteer recruitment and management, and marketing as needed. In addition to these tasks, the intern will also be able to work with the Resource Development team to create and accomplish their own job duties per the intern’s professional goals and/or school requirements.
Skills: Qualified applicants will possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), initiative and promptness, be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and be comfortable communicating with a broad range of community members.
