SHELTER DRIVE: Collect Supplies for Animal Rescue!

As a volunteer-powered non-profit organization, Ruff House Rescue would not exist without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. The number of dogs and cats we can save depends on the number of volunteers we have helping us. We often need supplies for our rescue in New York, and this is where you come in! We also need dog food for our kennel located in Southern Texas!! This opportunity would be great for universities (clubs, fraternities, sororities), schools, teams, churches, work campaigns, and scouts.

It is a virtual position. It is NOT located at our Rescue with our dogs.
Letter is NOT provided for school or community service hours.

Major Responsibilities:

• Start a Kennel Supplies Drive where money is mailed to our rescue in West Islip, New York (also donations are used for our rescue located in Texas):

• Start a Kennel Supplies Drive where items (see below) are dropped off at our rescue on Long Island, New York (email us and we will send you the address).

Supplies we always need include:

1. Gently used and clean throw blankets, towels, and top sheets. (PLEASE NO: fitted sheets, pillowcases, comforters, or pillows.)
   
2. Disposable gloves
3. Paper towels
4. Bleach
5. Milk Bones Biscuit dog treats
6. Unscented laundry detergent
7. Dawn Dish detergent
8. Gift certificates
9. Healthy Edibles Bones by Nylabone
10. Kennel in Texas: Pedigree Dog and Puppy food (wet or dry)
11. Chewy Wish list or Amazon Wish List: You do not have to order from them, but you can use this list to see what we need.

Length of term:

There is no minimum amount of time required, only what you are able to volunteer.

PJ had been sober for 2 years and he didn't have a job, he didn't have any accountability, he made the decision to start looking for a dog. A rescue group (Ruff House Rescue) had pulled Clove from a kill shelter. PJ just found a place to live. He got a call from the rescue and she was like, "PJ can you pick up Clove right now?" The first day PJ got Clove she was so scared and shut down, it was very awkward. She just cowered in his presence. And she was very timid. Watch the VIDEO to see how their story unfolds ...
