Application and screening required. We are looking for an experienced English as a Second Language Instructor to volunteer and facilitate a weekly conversational class at the Central Library (30303) and a substitute for the Alpharetta Library (30009).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead classroom activities to teach conversational English
- Support program activities by researching new curriculum content and preparing educational materials
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a multi-level ESL classroom
- Create curriculum, activities, and projects that are appropriate for a multi-level ESL classroom
- Promote a culturally inclusive and linguistically diverse classroom environment
- Demonstrate an understanding of various models of ESL instruction
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Previous teaching experience
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment; international experience a plus
- Enthusiasm, positive attitude

Description
The Fulton County Library System is the largest library system in the state of Georgia. Volunteers serve at all 34 locations. The System provides a variety of literacy and community information services and programs for citizens in and around the Metropolitan Atlanta area. These services include, but are not limited to: providing audio, visual and print media for check-out by registered patrons; providing programming that reflects the diverse interests of area residents and visitors, and providing meeting areas for community discussion and interaction.
