Position: Volunteer Visitor Services Representative
Hours: 4-16 hours/week, Thursday-Sunday
Schedule: Flexible, weekends and evenings as needed.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing, and friendly person to provide coverage and extra help for Visitor Services Representatives during regular museum hours and special events.
What you will be doing:
As the Visitor Services Representative, you are the face of the museum. You will make an outstanding first impression by being a friendly, attentive, and welcoming host and greeter for all visitors! Your tasks will include:
- Informing visitors about current and future programs, events, workshops, and exhibitions
- Inviting visitors to share their feedback and connect with the museum deeper by joining our mailing list, becoming a member or volunteer
- Selling admission tickets, memberships, and store products. Comfortable with cash handling, or willing to learn
- Maintaining museum facilities throughout the day. Reporting any facility or gallery maintenance needs or potential improvements to your supervisor.
- Administrative tasks: take phone calls, mail, and packages, directing them to appropriate staff as needed
- Other related tasks, as assigned
You will be great for this role if:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You are available weekends and evenings as needed
- You enjoy helping people, engaging a wide range of visitors, and providing exceptional customer service
- You are a reliable team player who can also work on projects independently
- You are attentive to detail, organized, and comfortable handling cash, credit card, and other payment transactions
- You are enjoy art and want to learn about the museum’s history, current and upcoming exhibitions and programs, as well as share this enthusiasm with visitors
- You can professionally address problems or visitor concerns on the spot
- You are comfortable working with (or ready to learn) Microsoft Office, Google products, Square POS and other systems

Our mission is to share and celebrate the art and culture of textiles. We believe that fabric holds an innate power to connect people of varied backgrounds. As part of the Visitor Services team, you will play a key role in creating a positive, welcoming and inclusive experience for all visitors.
