Project Independence is a volunteer based program to give additional support to seniors while recuperating from an illness or after release from a hospitalization. Clients are referred to Project Independence for assistance with transportation, companionship, light housekeeping and errands. The client is typically in this program for 2-3 months during their recovery period. Volunteers utilize their own vehicle and fuel for transportation assisting the client. Clients must be able to get themselves into and out of a vehicle without assistance. This program means so much to the seniors who do not have any transportation or friends or family to assist them. Please contact 972-953-7669 or michelle.owen@wellctr.org for more information.
