Pet Assistance Foundation has a rescue and adoption program for unwanted, stray or given up pets - sometimes from very abusive situations. The kitten season this spring has been a really busy one - we get calls all the time to come pick up litters and moms. We really need help to care for them on a temporary basis. We don't expect a foster to take an entire litter - helping us with one pet would be very much appreciated. We pay for all medical care, food and supplies - all of it. You would supply love and happy care. We hold adoptions at three PETCO stores: Downey, Lakewood, and Rolling Hills for our adoptable pets. The situation would be a temporary one for you, but is incredibly important for the play time and socialization of the pet you would give a home to. We cannot stress enough how valuable a service this would be to help a helpless animal find a forever home and loving parents.

Mission Statement
Pet Assistance Foundation was founded in 1955 with the sole purpose of helping stop pet overpopulation and abuse through spay and neuter. We refer pet owners to quality low cost s/n vets through our thirteen branches throughout So. California. We also assist low income pet owners by providing a donation towards the cost of the surgery. We also do adoption/rescue with weekend adoption events in PETCO stores in Rolling Hills, Lakewood, and Downey.
Description
We have an immediate need for cat caretakers! This volunteer activity will involve feeding, cleaning cages and socializing with the cats during playtime. Cat care taking requires about an hour and a half to two hours at one of the above locations.
This is our 64TH year of humane work in Southern California. Come join a group of dedicated, caring people who know that every moment they volunteer results in a positive outcome for an unwanted pet. We take in owner relinquished, homeless and unwanted given up pets-get them any and all medical care they need, get them healthy, happy and friendly. Then, there is the huge moment when we find them a pet parent who will care for them for their lifetime. That's huge! In just a few hours a week, that is what you will be part of.
