DATE: 8-9 OCTOBER 2015

PURPOSE:

You are invited to participate in the 2015 Knowledge Sciences Symposium WNY on the campus of St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York. This program builds on the work of the 2013 Knowledge Sciences Symposiums where a blueprint for a regional Knowledge Sciences Center was envisioned. According to Bedford, Lewis & Moon (2014):
In the knowledge economy, there is as much or more knowledge being created outside of academia as there is within (Peters 2007). Knowledge economy challenges are chaotic, dynamic and "wicked". The knowledge economy is not as segmented or hierarchically structured as was an industrial economy - the transformation requires that all sectors and all stakeholders move together rather than move individually.
The following are the desired outcomes of the Symposium:

  • Develop an action plan for the creation and implementation of a regional Knowledge Sciences Center.
  • Provide a knowledge management learning, resource, and networking event.
  • Engage the community of knowledge management professionals in Western New York with other business and community leaders as well as with KM professionals the world over.

"Break ground" for the nation’s first Knowledge Sciences Center (KSC). Proceeds from the Symposium will be designated toward the Knowledge Sciences Center.

HOST:

The Symposium is a program of Pioneer Knowledge Services, a nonprofit tax exempt corporation with the charitable purpose of nurturing knowledge cultures. http://www.pioneer-ks.org/programs
