Join the City of West Hollywood in beautifying West Hollywood Elementary School for the 2015 West Hollywood MLK Jr. Day of Service on January 17, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.! The City of West Hollywood will be joining with hundreds of communities across the country in commemorating the 28 th anniversary of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day federal holiday! Volunteers are needed to help perform various landscaping, clean-up, painting, including a mural and other beautifying tasks at West Hollywood Elementary School. All tasks include physical labor and volunteers will work for a 6-hour shift. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old to participate and they will receive a commemorative t-shirt and lunch! The day will kick-off with a welcome from the West Hollywood Mayor and City Council and include live music and other surprises throughout the day! Don’t miss out! Space is limited and advanced registration is REQUIRED . Unable to volunteer but still want to participate? Donate to our food drive! Just stop by curbside at 970 N. Hammond St., West Hollywood, CA 90069 to donate non-perishable food items that will benefit the SOVA Food and Community Resource Program and learn about other upcoming volunteer opportunities in the community. Co-sponsors include Friends of West Hollywood Elementary (FOWE) and the Sunset Strip Business Association (SSBA), producers of the Sunset Strip Music Festival.

The City of West Hollywood Volunteer Corps has various volunteer opportunities throughout the year that individuals and groups are able to get involved in. Some of these events include the Sunset Strip Music Festival, LA Pride, and other community and civic engagement opportunities.
