Gladden Food Pantry provides emergency food assistance to households living within our service area. Our mission is to strengthen the well-being of Franklinton’s children, families and community, and build a thriving equitable neighborhood. One of the many services the Gladden Food Pantry provides is home deliveries to homebound seniors and disabled residents who are unable to come to our pantry on their own accord. The first 4 Fridays of every month we delivery food boxes to those living in our community and we could use your help!
*Gladden Food Pantry cannot accept volunteers who are needing to fulfill court-ordered community service hours.*
Minimum age: 18 year(s)
Event requires signed forms.
Physical requirements of being on your feet for 1-2 hours at a time.
Being able to lift up to 30 pounds
What will volunteers do?
Volunteers will drive their OWN car to deliver food boxes/bags to homebound seniors and disabled residents. All delivery items will be pre-packed and ready to go upon arrival.
- Volunteers will assist with loading the items into their own cars.
- Volunteers will interact with residents when dropping off delivery items to residents homes.
- Volunteers MUST have a smart phone to use for GPS.
What will volunteers need to bring or wear?
Please make sure to clean out the back of your cars before you come. Please check the weather and dress appropriately. Please wear closed-toed shoes. Smart Phone for GPS.
If you need to cancel please email the Office Manager - kadams@gladdenhouse.org. If able, please provide 24 hours’ notice.

Gladden Community House is a non-profit settlement house serving the Columbus urban communities of Franklinton and Southwest Columbus. We are a neighborhood-based agency that provides education and recreational programs, emergency assistance, advocacy and support in order to make a difference in the everyday lives of individuals, families, and groups.
