Join the happiest group around - Meals on Wheels volunteers. Deliver lunch to the elderly in Fremont, Newark, and Union City; Monday - Friday, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. During COVID-19, these meals are being delivered with no contact to front porches; drivers wait while they pick it up and check in from 6 feet away.
Choose a day that works for you and how frequently you want to volunteer (for example, weekly, every other week, or monthly). It’s easy to bring joy and good health to a frail senior - and your help is needed now, more than ever!
Not the right fit? We have lots of other ways to get involved with LIFE too: drive seniors to the doctor or to get groceries, become a Friendly Visitor, help with office work & more!

To provide direct service programs on behalf of frail, at-risk seniors that promote healthy lifestyle choices, support daily well-being and enable independent living for as long as safely possible.
Description
LIFE ElderCare provides the basics of life - food, friendship, support, and enhanced mobility - to seniors, age 60 and older. Meals On Wheels delivers hot, nutritious meals; Friendly Visitors provides weekly in-home companionship; Assisted Transportation links volunteers with seniors (and non-seniors with disabilities) who need destination assistance; and Fall Prevention offers in-home, personalized services to reduce the risk of falling. For those with more complex needs, we also offer case management and care coordination throughout Alameda County.
