Volunteers provide hand-written letters of gratitude to deployed military personnel, wounded warriors and veterans. Each volunteer writes one or more letters monthly and forwards them to RSVP for shipping along with Operation Gratitude "care packages". Of all the gifts included in these care packages, these letters from citizens are the most treasured.
This is a wonderful opportunity to serve without even leaving your own home. Ideal for homebound volunteers. This RSVP project is specifically for those age 55 and up. Guidelines and sample letters provided.

Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.
Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.
RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.
When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
