Dock Masters play an important guest relations role at the Conservancy. You will register visitors for boat rides (under a covered gazebo), assist in docking boats, and answer general questions about the Conservancy and what’s happening on campus. Best candidates are friendly and outgoing, and able to maintain decorum during busy times on the dock. If you enjoy the outdoors and seek a volunteer experience working with others, this is the role you’ve been looking for!

Current need is for year-round residents.

About Conservancy of Southwest Florida

Location:

1495 Smith Preserve Way, Naples, FL 34102, US

Mission Statement

Preserving Southwest Florida's natural environment....now and forever.

Description

Since its first grassroots victory in 1964, spearheading the acquisition and protection of Rookery Bay, The Conservancy has served as Southwest Florida's environmental leader, working proactively to protect Southwest Florida's natural environment--including the Everglades system. In support of its mission, The Conservancy operates a nature center, a Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic, environmental advocacy, science and research projects plus environmental education programs for adults and children. We have expanded our scope across the five counties in Southwest Florida: Collier, Charlotte, Lee, Hendry, and Glades.

We maximize the combined forces of environmental policy, advocacy, research, education, and wildlife rehabilitation to protect Southwest Florida’s natural treasures - our water, our land and our wildlife.

Our goals have become more ambitious as even greater pressures are placed on our natural heritage.

We have concerns about our water. Will it be clean? Will we have enough? Over one million acres of rural lands are proposed for development. Will it be done in a way that protects lands vital to our survival --- and to the 133 listed, endangered, and threatened species in Florida? We are constantly working to find a sensible balance between the demands of a growing population and the preservation of our natural resources.
