Mission Statement
The mission of M.E.N. Inc. is to mentor, educate & nurture young men regardless of ethnicity or sexual orientation within available resources allowed.
Description
In January of 2011 M.E.N. Incorporated was incorporated by The Texas Secretary of State, in February they received a DBA for Harris County and in that same month M.E.N. Inc had its first Board meeting. After only five months they completed, filed and received notification of 501(c)3 status from the United States Internal Revenue Service. The rest of 2011 was filled with generating supporters, hosting mixers, building social media accounts, websites, applying for grants and building long lasting relationships and partnerships. M.E.N. Inc is now partners with Alief ISD which proved to be a difficult task. Justin and Desmond began actively mentoring a group of 9 young men at Elsik Ninth Grade Center every Friday in January of 2012. Topics covered vary according to the need, but things such as goal setting, conflict resolution, choosing friends, and effective study habits were discussed. The young men enjoyed the group session so much that they began bringing friends. The future of M.E.N. Inc looks very promising and we are excited about what is to come and you can expect much more history to be written.
