ORGANIZATION: Star Learning Center

  • 161 people are interested

The Star Learning Center provides students from underserved communities with one-to-one tutoring designed to help overcome barriers to learning and succeed in school.

Star creates an individual plan for each child, and every tutor writes a weekly report tracking the student’s progress. Many tutors work with the same child for months and even years, creating close partnerships that can transform a child’s grades and build his or her confidence as a learner.

Star is looking for volunteer tutors to work with underserved students from across the city for the 2024-2025 school year. You will be matched one-to-one with a student and work with that student once a week for two hours, on the same day and at the same time. Students range in age from 2nd to 12th grade. We do not offer tutoring on weekends.
