Family & Children’s Agency is seeking a volunteer to offer clerical assistance for our Development Department in our Norwalk office. The volunteer will be helping with filing, photocopying, scanning, organizing closets, etc. Once a week for 2 - 3 hours or twice monthly (flexible on days).
Family & Children’s Agency is a leading non-profit, human service organization that is committed to increasing the social and emotional well-being of our clients. We provide strength-based, solution focused services that respond to the individual needs of children & families, youth, adults, and seniors.
Program Information
The Development Department oversees all fundraising efforts for the agency including major events, grants, inkind donations and other areas of support.
Requirements
To become a volunteer with Family & Children’s Agency, volunteers must complete an application and necessary background checks.
Volunteers must also complete an agency orientation with Volunteer Services and a program orientation with their supervisor.
Skills Needed:
- Desire to work in an administrative capacity
- General knowledge of office setting including computer knowledge/copy machine etc.
- Dependability and consistency
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Clean background check

- Supports children through ASPIRE, Foster Care and IICAPS.
- Builds families through Adoption, Parent Education and Guidance.
- Stabilizes adults with counseling, substance abuse treatment, and supportive housing services.
- Cares for seniors by providing caregiver support, PERS, caregivers and live-in assistance so they can stay in their homes.
