The volunteer experience at Good Grief is life changing. The children and families teach our volunteers a great deal about life, resiliency, hope, and the need for supporting each other. Many volunteers say they receive much more than they give. This meaningful experience not only impacts the children of Good Grief, but most volunteers attest to the ways in which this experience has drastically changed and improved their lives, as this work is both personally transformative and rewarding.
Good Grief's nationally respected programs provide free peer support to children, teens, young adults, and families after the death of a parent or sibling. Our programs equip grieving families with the support and tools they need to face their grief. We help families develop healthy coping skills, provide a caring environment to process feelings and fears, and create a sense of hopefulness during a very difficult and uncertain time.

Mission Statement
Good Grief's mission is to provide unlimited and free support to children, teens, young adults, and families after the death of a mother, father, sister, or brother through peer-support programs, education, and advocacy.
Description
Good Grief provides free peer support to children, teens, young adults, and families after the death of a mom, dad, sister, or brother. Our programs equip grieving families with the support and tools they need to face their grief. We help families develop healthy coping skills, provide a caring environment to process feelings and fears, and create a sense of hopefulness during a very difficult and uncertain time.
In addition to our bi-weekly programs, Good Grief's enrichment programs enhance the quality of our participant's experience. These programs focus on family time, parenting skills, opportunities to explore grief in our summer camps and equine therapy, and physical well-being through outdoor adventures and play. All of our enrichment programs encourage participants to make new friends, find different ways to express grief, spend time remembering the person who died, and discover ways to develop a new sense of normalcy. At the heart of Good Grief, we are a community of people who understand and support one another.
