Puget Sound Navy Museum needs volunteers to help with our front desk and/or gift shop operations. Our volunteers help orient visitors, research local/Navy history, conduct optional docent work, operate a cash register (if you feel comfortable with it) and help educate the public on our nation's proud military heritage! We are open every day, except Tuesday, and we offer flexible volunteer schedules. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and to serve the public! Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and be able to pass a federal background check.

About PUGET SOUND NAVY MUSEUM

Location:

251 1st St, Bremerton, WA 98337, US

Mission Statement

The Puget Sound Navy Museum collects, preserves, and interprets the naval heritage of the Pacific Northwest from 1840 to the present for the benefit of the U.S. Navy and the people of the United States.

Description

The Puget Sound Navy Museum is comprised of multiple exhibits spread out over two floors within the museum. These exhibits range from the foundations of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1891 to modern day aircraft carriers such as the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and everything in between!

The vision of the Puget Sound Navy Museum is to make the museum a preferred destination for naval personnel and their families, shipyard workers and their families, and visitors to Bremerton and the Puget Sound region.

The Puget Sound Navy Museum will ensure that the naval heritage of the Pacific Northwest and those who shaped and continue to contribute to it are never forgotten, always remain relevant, and inspire as many people as possible.
