Volunteer at Skaftafell National Park and join our teams to preserve the Vatnajökull National Park in Skaftafell. One of the most beautiful areas of the country, the park is a green oasis surrounded by one of the worlds biggest glaciers.
You can join from 2 to 6 weeks, from June to August each year. As a team of up to 8 volunteers you will be carrying out a range of wilderness management projects. Work focuses on the trail network around the centre and on mountain trails as these trails suffer from severe erosion.
As a volunteer you will be:
- boardwalk building
- resurfacing trails
- improving drainage
- bridge building
- stone step construction
- removal of invasive species
The cost is as follows: 2 week programme is £340, 4 weeks is £480, and 6 weeks is £660.
