NO ONE should be alone at the end of life. Kaiser Permanente's Hospice division is looking for volunteers in Morgan Hill to visit our terminally ill patients.
We'll connect you with a patient close to where you live so that you can visit at a time that works for your schedule. Most of our patients are in their 80's and 90's. You can hold a patient's hand, be a listener, sit quietly, play music, and share life stories. By spending time with the patient, you'll also give the caregiver a break for an hour or two. Volunteers are required to wear masks and will never be assigned to a patient with covid in the household.
Kaiser Hospice is a special form of care for patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. As an integral part of the medical team, hospice volunteers work directly with nurses, doctors, social workers, physical therapists, and chaplains to provide companionship for our patients. Kaiser Hospice patients live in their own homes in the Gilroy area.
Comprehensive online training is provided to ensure that you become fluent in the policies, ethics, and benefits of Hospice Care. Opportunities are available days, evenings, or weekends.
Come join a team that truly makes a difference in lives of community members!
