Mission Statement

The mission of Tulsa Advocates for the Protection of Children (TAPC) is to improve the lives of abused and neglected children in Tulsa County through advocacy, resource development, best practice service provision, and community outreach.

Description

Christmas for Kids- TAPC grants the holiday wishes of children in the welfare system who have experienced neglect, domestic violence, physical abuse, substance abuse, and/or sexual abuse by a parent or caretaker. Receiving gifts on their wish lists, the children share in the excitement of the Christmas season, affirming that the joy on a child's face is the reason for giving.

Foster Family Resource Center - eases children’s transition into foster care by providing goods and services that fulfill their basic and immediate needs, such as beds, car seats, clothing, toiletries, diapers, formula, books and toys, etc. The Christmas for Kids program is also a component of Resource Center. TAPC and OKDHS work hard to ensure all children in OKDHS foster care in Tulsa County receive Christmas gifts.
