Busy day at the shop

No experience is necessary! We're looking for anyone interested in learning how to fix bikes, and in turn helping others fix their bikes. Experienced staff & volunteers are always available during open shop hours for any new volunteers to ask questions.

Volunteers are trained to fix bikes to giveaway to children, refugees, and people who cannot afford bikes on their own. Volunteers also assist customers in fixing up their bikes. We have opportunities in the morning, afternoon, and evening and on weekdays and weekends.

Please let us know when you’re available and if you’d prefer our shop at 2647 North Pershing Drive in Arlington's Lyon Park neighborhood or our shop at 2111 Mt. Vernon Avenue in Alexandria's Del Ray neighborhood. By responding to this post you'll be connected with a Volunteer Coordinator who can provide more details. Thank you for your interest!

We also have other volunteer opportunities including fundraising, grant writing, social media, IT, bike maintenance instructors, and photography.

Mission: Our mission is to grow and empower an inclusive biking community through education and affordability. Vision: Affordability: Make safe reliable bicycles more affordable for everyone. Diversity: Foster diversity within the cycling community. Education: Expand the availability of quality cycling education within the community. Recreation: Promote cycling as a healthy and enjoyable activity. We provide a non-profit, volunteer-run, educational do-it-yourself workshop offering training, rides, and events to empower all levels of cyclists in building, maintaining, and embracing the fun of bicycles. As a local non-profit organization, we rely strictly on volunteers and funding from private individuals and organizations.
