Winter Breakfast Program (Soup Kitchen)

The Winter Breakfast Program is a soup kitchen that serves breakfast to over 130 guests each morning, providing a hot, nutritious breakfast and take-away lunch. The program is open and volunteers are needed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, from 6:30 AM - 9 AM. from October- April.

We have about thirteen volunteers each morning to help cook and serve breakfast, set-up and clean-up the facility, and generally provide a hospitable and safe space for breakfast guests. If you are interested in volunteering for FOCUS Winter Breakfast, please contact volunteer coordinator Belinda Quaye at belindaq@focuschurches.net.

Mission Statement

Mission

Six covenant churches, four faith affiliates, and two faith partners, doing together what we cannot do alone. United in a common calling to respond to our neighbor’s needs in the city of Albany and beyond, as God’s servant people in a broken and hurting world.

Description

Our Work

The FOCUS feeding programs - FOCUS Interfaith Food Pantry, Breakfast Express, and FOCUS Winter Breakfast - are our primary efforts in an endeavor to help those in need by providing our community with good, nutritious food and hospitality. Along with food, FOCUS is intentional in balancing labors of charity with acts of justice by participating in the work of seeking long term solutions to end hunger and poverty.
