To have a Stronger Presence, A Stronger Voice...A Strong Support System is Key. We are seeking professional, motivated, and dedicated community members who are willing to use their time and leverage their resources to further the advancement of child advocacy.
Our goal is to fill the volunteer spots with various professional backgrounds and diversity in ethnicity, both male and female. Major board responsibilities are "Friend"raising (Community Awareness/Outreach), Utilizing personal Circle of Influence, and Sustainability Support (fundraisers, special events, increase donors) The Board also ensures the recognition of CASA volunteers and supports the staff in child advocacy efforts. Potential board leaders do not manage day-to-day operations, must be engaged and committed to the position.
Yet, another way to Change a Child's Story.

Mission Statement
To recruit, train, supervise & retain culturally responsive volunteers to advocate for the "best interest" of abused and/or neglected children in Houston County; one child at a time.
Description
Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. That's where CASA steps in. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he/she can thrive. It is the CASA vision to provide a volunteer for each and every abused and neglected child who needs one.
