Benjamin Buddha kitty
Benjamin Buddha kitty was rescued within hours of his death. Even though perfectly healthy he tested positive for FIV and the vet who "rescued" him wanted him euthanized. He is living a great life at HHCS, and has been very healthy, happy and extremely friendly!

We need someone to help approximately 2 to 4 afternoons a month, with yard work and general upkeep around the small property where we house the cats. For instance, at least once a month, we need to remove/replace a few areas of cedar and dirt for sanitation reasons. And we need bushes trimmed, raking, etc. Just some general maintenance help. Occasionally we need some minor repairs or help with a larger cleaning project. No big construction or anything too technical. Nothing too difficult, just need someone not afraid to get their hands dirty, do a bit of lifting, and maybe occasionally get on a ladder.
Flexible shifts but must be in the afternoon; days are also flexible.
We have all tools and necessary equipment and supplies.
You will not be asked or required to do any animal care or handling.

We cannot take volunteers that are under 18 years old. You also need your own transportation to help here.

Thank you!

About Healing Hope Cat Sanctuary

Location:

P.O. Box 3921, San Clemente, CA 92674, US

Mission Statement

For over 25 years. Healing Hope Cat Sanctuary has served a few different areas of So. California, by helping with the cat overpopulation problem and the high shelter euthanasia problem. We first started helping mainly San Clemente/Dana Point cats, but we have now expanded to help in other areas of So. California. Over the years we have narrowed our work and focus to caring for and taking in UNADOPTABLE cats.. These are cats with chronic or difficult medical problems, elderly cats, felines with personality problems and even some truly feral cats that had no other place to go. We take in the cats that no one wants. or can keep or would be killed at the high-euthanasia shelters. We also help people who often need to place their cats due to the reasons/conditions mentioned here.

Description

A small licensed feline sanctuary run from the home of founder and president, Kim Rockshaw. Because of space and work limitations, and also due to the individualized quality of care each cat gets, we limit our number to under 25 cats.

Animals are housed on the premises in either the home, or outside in a very large enclosed yard. Here we house many of the cats that are used to being outdoors. We have large hutches and other cubby holes designed for shelter as well as access to the garage.
