AccentCare Hospice is looking for Volunteers to visit patients throughout Santa Clara Valley

As a SAccentCare Hospice Volunteer, you will collaborate with our full-service medical and psycho-social care team to help patients and their family members. Volunteer activities with patients include: Listening to patient's stories, reading out loud, watching videos on Youtube, providing caregiver relief in the home, listening to music, doing crafts, but most of all, becoming a friend to someone dealing with a terminal illness.

Training to be a AccentCare Hospice Volunteer is extensive but the time is well spent if you have an interest in hospice or healthcare.

Requirements:

• An untarnished criminal background history
• Motor vehicle report with no more than 3 moving violations within the past 36 months
• Tuberculosis skin test
• Completion of 6-8 hours of self-study online modules
• Volunteers must be 18 or older
• Willing to commit as a volunteer for minimum of 12 months.
• Able to visit patients on weekdays anytime from 10AM-4PM; Occasional weekends as needs arise
• COVID vaccination verification
