Therapy dogs provide presence and comfort for our patients and their families and are in high demand. They are most needed to visit patients in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, while on occasion requested to visit patients in own homes. Therapy dogs --along with their pet parents, are an extremely valuable part of our agency. By making visits to patients in community facilities, you and your pet will provide the support of pet companionship to patients who are often no longer able to have a pet.

Pet parents must be caring and compassionate and be able to maintain patient and family confidentiality. The therapy dog needs to hold a Pet Therapy certification, be current on all shots, have an active dog license, and have insurance.
