Conservation Volunteers International Program is a nonprofit dedicated to helping sustain some of the world's greatest landscapes, cultural heritage sites and biodiversity. One way we fulfill our mission is by offering volunteer trips to some extraordinary destinations where the trip participants volunteer on environmental conservation projects. In addition to the work accomplished on our volunteer trips, we also sponsor Special Projects, which are projects which require longer time commitments, specialized skills, and funding to implement, beyond the scope of what is feasible on our shorter volunteer trips.
Please see our website at https://conservationvip.org for more information about our organization and our projects.
We are looking for a lawyer who shares our values and our interest in the environment, who would be interested in joining our Board of Directors and serving as Corporate Secretary. Because we are a virtual organization, Board meetings are via conference call. Ideally, the candidate would be California-based, and have some experience working with nonprofits.

Mission Statement
Conservation Volunteers International Program is an environmental nonprofit dedicated to helping sustain some of the world's greatest landscapes, cultural heritage sites and biodiversity. We accomplish our mission by organizing volunteer travel to extraordinary destinations where our trip participants volunteer on environmental conservation projects.
Description
ConservationVIP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We began our volunteer work in 2007 with one volunteer trip which helped one of the world's most amazing environments - Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia, Chile. Since then, thanks to the support of many volunteers, we have expanded to support ten destinations with extraordinary environmental, cultural, or biodiversity importance, including Machu Picchu in Peru, the Galapagos Islands, and Costa Rica.
Under our stewardship, more than 1,500 volunteers have contributed over 55,000 volunteer hours to protect these extraordinary places. By matching the enthusiasm of people who like to travel, with opportunities to help the places they want to visit, we have created a community of volunteers who have truly helped the places they love.
