Share your love of books with blind and visually impaired library patrons! Braille Institute needs enthusiastic volunteers to assist our unique library. Responsibilities include assisting library patrons with selection of books, answering phones, using computer for data entry and explaining library services to new patrons. Great customer service skills and a positive attitude are a must! Braille Institute library volunteers are asked for a commitment of three hours per week. Various time slots are available, Monday through Friday. No experience is necessary. Training in working with people who are visually impaired will be provided. Come join our Volunteer Team!

Description

Braille Institute offers a variety of services to people who are blind and visually impaired, from mobility and technology training, to low vision rehabilitation and home visits, to arts and exercise classes, to a vast library of braille and audio titles for every age, and more. Each year, we help tens of thousands of people regain and maintain their independence. Thanks to generous donations, Braille Institute services are available free of charge.
