Heartland Hospice

Heartland Hospice is in search of caring and dedicated individuals/groups with an interest in serving those who are in their final days, who now have advanced illnesses. We are seeking volunteers who enjoy making a difference and a heart for others, for veterans providing much needed one-on-one support to others and veterans at the end of life.
Only veterans truly understand the experiences of other veterans, which allows for the potential of a strong relationship between volunteer and patient. Volunteering with Heartland is flexible and is based on your schedule weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

About Heartland Hospice

Location:

664 Scranton Road Unit 103, Brunswick, GA 31520, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is enriching life.

Heartland Hospice is dedicated to providing patients with care wherever they consider home. Whether care is desired in the home a patient has lived in for years, a skilled nursing center or an assisted living facility, we tailor our caregiving to fit the patient's and family's unique needs.

Heartland's caregivers enrich our patients' lives and provide support by developing individualized care plans, setting goals, encouraging personal choices, working together in caregiving decisions and supporting meaningful experiences. Our caregivers help manage pain and symptoms, enabling patients to live life as fully and comfortably as possible. Social workers and spiritual counselors create a comforting environment in which patients and families are able to share their thoughts, hopes and concerns. And special bereavement programs provide emotional support to patients and families who need help coping. Our volunteers work side by side with hospice professionals in providing comfort and care when they are needed most.

Description

Heartland Hospice supports the patient and family wherever they are in life's journey, and upholds the patient and family's wishes, goals and values. At Heartland, we help preserve our patients' dignity, show them the respect that they richly deserve and provide compassionate care through our Caring Promises. Heartland Hospice provides care to those who qualify for hospice services regardless of the ability to pay or their insurance coverage.
