Mission Statement

To understand and serve, with dignity and respect, the health and wellness needs of the medically underserved in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Description

Clinic by the Bay is San Francisco's Volunteers in Medicine clinic. We serve the primary medical needs of the working uninsured in the San Francisco Bay Area

As part of the national network of Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) clinics, Clinic by the Bay is about neighbor helping neighbor. We provide a caring medical home for our patients so they can work, attend school, care for their families and be productive members of their community.

Clinic by the Bay does not rely on government funding and accepts no insurance. We are supported by private institutional and individual gifts, plus in-kind contributions of professional services and supplies.

Our volunteers are retired and practicing doctors, dentists, nurses, and other community volunteers (e.g., receptionists, eligibility screeners, interpreters, computer experts, health educators) who provide compassionate care to our working uninsured neighbors.
