Through the Meals-on Wheels (MOW) program, volunteers deliver meals and so much more to homebound individuals. Drivers and Runners are both needed. You will be assisting MOW participants in meeting 1/3 of their daily nutritional needs while providing a safety check on their wellbeing. You could be the vital source of human connection and socialization which will enable them to continue to live independently in their home.
Shifts are typically 3 to 3 1/2 hours and are available at all three Davis County Senior Centers (located in Clearfield, Kaysville and Bountiful). Volunteers receive training as well as meals.
All volunteers must pass a background check (expense covered by Davis County).
Individuals aged 55 or better are also welcome to participate in the Davis County Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Benefits include mileage reimbursement, supplemental insurance coverage, as well as volunteer recognition(s) throughout the year.

Mission Statement
Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.
Description
Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.
RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.
When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
