About R.E.D.E.E.M. Community Outreach

Location:

555 Hopkins Street SW, Suite A, Atlanta, GA 30310, US

Mission Statement

The mission of REDEEM Community Outreach, Inc. is to help to create a world where every person is living and working to their full potential. For information about all of our programs, see www.redeematlanta.org.

Description

REDEEM helps to build healthy and community-friendly spaces by developing cooperative gardens, adopting neighborhood parks, and supporting our local farmer’s market. There are volunteer opportunities at each of these programs.

Mother Clyde Memorial West End Garden/Urban Pepper Farm (539 Hopkins Street SW) creates a sustainable, accessible food source within the community and provides agricultural jobs, culinary training, and farmer development, including classes for children during the spring.

Holderness/ Lucile Park (471 Holderness Street SW) was one of the first fruit orchards in a public park. It currently has six fruit trees and 25 blooming flower trees, plants, and herbs. Community members can pick fruit for free.

West End Farmer’s Market is open every weekend from June through October at Gordon-White Park (567 Ralph Davis Abernathy Boulevard SW), where we offer cooking demonstrations and information on how to grow vegetables at home. Residents can pick vegetables for free.
