Chicago low-income students need you! Students who attend Metro self-report growth in confidence, friendship, and leadership skills AND 95% of students who attend Metro get accepted into college prep high schools, 100% are accepted to college, and 92% graduate college.
But, they need a one-on-one tutor-mentor to help them in their homework and goal-setting to achieve their dreams. You can be the difference in helping them achieve their potential!
Support students in elementary and middle school, finishing high school, and going on to college. Volunteers come one night a week to work with the same student(s), helping them on their homework, working with the students' parents and the staff to create a community support network.

Midtown-Metro guides low-income urban youth in Chicago along pathways of success. Our proven enrichment programs embrace the dignity of the person by focusing on academic excellence, virtue development, individual attention, and parental engagement.
Description
Midtown-Metro operates through its Metro Achievement Center for girls and Midtown Achievement Center for boys in grades 3 - 12. Programs focus on Hispanic and African American youth, offering after-school and summertime growth opportunities that help students of average academic ability to achieve above-average results. Programs are rooted in Catholic moral and social teaching and embrace students regardless of their religious, racial, ethnic, or familial status. Midtown-Metro received its original inspiration from Opus Dei, an institution of the Catholic Church, and continues today its partnership with Opus Dei.
Be a tutor, role model, and mentor at Metro Achievement Center for girls or Midtown Center for boys!
- Volunteer tutor-mentor 2 hours once a week at our center, helping a student with their homework and goal-setting.
- Build a unique relationship with the same student one-on-one.
- No experience necessary! Tutor training available.
