The 4th Civil Support and Sustainment Brigade of the Ohio Military Reserve is looking for individuals in a variety of fields that would like to serve in one of the Uniformed Services of Ohio.

Under the authority of the Adjutant General, the OHMR is a state defense force that serves as civil support and sustainment entity, as well as a force multiplier for the Ohio National Guard during times of natural or man-made disaster. The OHMR provides emergency support to civil authorities in the areas of mass care, emergency assistance, housing, human services, logistics management, and resource support. We also provide communications support, medical support, legal support, chaplain services, and operate an unmanned aerial systems detachment.

Citizens from all over Ohio serve as members of the Ohio Military Reserve, one to two days per month and one week per year. Prior military service is welcome, but not required. We are seeking men and women. No special skills required. All training is provided. We have units not only in Columbus, but also in Newark, Middletown, Alliance, Cleveland, and Norwalk.

We train in Ohio. We STAY in Ohio! NO DEPLOYMENT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE.

If you are between the ages of 17 and 60, in acceptable physical condition, and can pass a criminal background check, then the Ohio Military Reserve can be your key to a rewarding and satisfying experience of service to your state. Description

The Ohio Military Reserve is a component of the Ohio Adjutant General's Department and serves under the governor as commander in chief. Its primary mission is to provide a fully-manned and mission-ready civil support and sustainment brigade to support the state's Emergency Support Function 6 (mass care) and Emergency Support Function 7 (logistics and resource support) during natural or man-made disasters or other threats to homeland security. In order to accomplish this mission, OHMR units are trained in medical support, volunteer reception and management, shelter management and logistics support in addition to basic soldier skills. Our core competencies are training to National Incident Management System (NIMS), Military Emergency Management Specialist (MEMS), and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) standards.
