These words ring true for most of our guests. In times of medical crisis, it is traditional for families and friends to prepare meals for loved ones. At RMHC Dayton, our families spend long days and nights at the hospital with their child. When they return to their "home-away-from-home," a hot, nutritious meal gives these exhausted and overwhelmed families a chance to relax and connect with others before the next day starts.

Meal opportunities are available seven days a week/ 365 days a year. Meals can be scheduled on a monthly, quarterly, or one-time basis. Participants plan the menu and supply the food, paper products, and plastic utensils. Breakfast is served Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Dinner is served seven days a week between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Please prepare enough food for 35 and 40 people. Dinner preparation must be done on-site. Our kitchen is equipped with all the reasonable cooking necessities. A barbecue grill is available.

Description
RMHC Dayton offers a community of compassion, support, and the comforts of home to families with critically ill children, steps away from the medical care they need. At our programs, we care for families, including caregivers, children receiving outpatient treatment, siblings, and other family members. By easing caregivers' financial and emotional burdens and taking care of important practical needs, our programs allow families to focus on what truly matters most: caring for their child.
The House provides a safe and comforting temporary residence near local hospitals so families can stay together. Families can eat a home-cooked meal, take a shower, do laundry, or rest in their private guest room, and all of these essential amenities are available just minutes away from their child's bedside.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room is a place of respite within the hospital, where families with in-patient children can grab a cup of coffee, shower, do laundry, eat, and rest just steps away from their child's bedside. RMHC Dayton currently has two Family Room programs, one within Dayton Children's Hospital and one at Emmett's Place at Miami Valley Hospital.
