Village volunteer drivers avail themselves to help our members get to and from hospital appointments, run errands, fun and social activities and more. The position is flexible in that you can volunteer at anytime you have availability when there is a request. We simply ask that your name go into a pool of drivers and we will either email or call you when a request is made. At that time, you can simply respond if you are available to help one of our senior members.
Please note that to transport SF Village members, you must maintain a valid CA driver's license, insurance and sign and agree to the Volunteer Driver Policy. The San Francisco Village does keep insurance for volunteer driver's in conjunction with the driver's own insurance.
Volunteers may deduct non-reimbursed, out-of-pocket expenses directly related to their volunteer services as a driver, if they itemize deductions.
If interested, please contact the SF Village at 415-387-1375 or by email at info@sfvillage.org.

Mission Statement
We operationalize love for elders in an ageist society by mobilizing the power of intergenerational relationships and mutual support.
Description
What is the San Francisco Village?
San Francisco Village is a nonprofit membership organization that connects older San Franciscans to the community, resources and expertise they need to live independently in the places they call home. Today, our community includes 450 members over the age of 60, more than 200 multi-generational volunteers, a staff of six, a 12-member board of directors and hundreds of donors, supporters, workshop leaders and partners. We’ve come together to optimize health and well-being for everyone involved.
VISION
We envision a future in which people of all ages, races, cultures, and abilities work together to create communities of belonging and in so doing, model possibilities for relationship and connection that benefit the greater good.
