The H.O.P.E. Project is a grassroots hurricane relief and community empowerment organization. Located in Violet, St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, we work to directly address social, economic, and environmental issues pertaining to affected neighborhoods. The H.O.P.E. Project is a grassroots hurricane relief and community empowerment organization. Located in Violet, St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, we work to directly address social, economic, and environmental issues pertaining to affected neighborhoods. Made up of volunteers locally and from around the country, we are committed to working with people to rebuild in a just and sustainable way, restoring dignity and hope to St. Bernard Parish communities. H.O.P.E. offers a free distribution center, a tool lending library, and house gutting and renovation. H.O.P.E. also holds D-I-Y gutting workshops, Saturday community breakfast, and neighborhood potlucks. H.O.P.E.รข s Vision: -To strengthen already existing community networks, while working to create others. -Provide immediate assistance from hurricane damage with a focus on long-term rebuilding. -Encourage self-determination in local youth through mentoring and group activity. -Facilitate community cooperation leading to self-sufficiency.
