Mission Statement

Care Dimensions enriches quality of life by providing expert care, support, education and consultation for those affected by life-limiting illness, death and loss.

Description

Care Dimensions was founded in 1978 as a community-based, all volunteer organization with a mission to provide emotional support and practical assistance to terminally ill patients and their families. Now serving 87 communities in eastern Massachusetts with a new branch office in Wellesley, we work every day to help more people access care and gain the support they deserve for one of the most challenging times in their lives.

In 2001, Care Dimensions opened the Center for Grief & Healing to expand its bereavement services to anyone who has experienced loss, regardless of whether their loved ones received hospice care. In 2010, the center served more than 2,100 people of all ages and was renamed the Bertolon Center for Grief & Healing.

With the opening of the Kaplan Family Hospice House in 2005, Care Dimensiosn introduced a new era of end-of-life care in Massachusetts. The Kaplan Family Hospice House is the first hospice facility licensed to provide an inpatient level of hospice care, a level of care that is not available at home. In 2010 the new Ayer Anderson Wing of the Kaplan Family Hospice House was added, increasing the number of patient suites to 20.
