Mission Statement
K-9 Lifesavers is a volunteer-run, 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned and homeless dogs. Most canines are rescued from high-kill shelters, where there are typically held only three to seven days before euthanasia.
K-9 Lifesavers also educates on a variety of topics, including the importance of spay/neuter and proper pet care, in order to reduce the homeless pet population.
Description
K-9 Lifesavers finds well-matched, carefully screened forever homes for our rescued canines. We have weekly adoption events throughout the Washington D.C. area. We do not operate a shelter, but work with dedicated volunteer foster homes and our local boarding partners to provide loving temporary care.
K-9 Lifesavers also works to emphasize the importance of spay/neuter, positive-reinforcement training, and proper pet nutrition.
We welcome you to explore our website and meet our Adoptable Dogs.
Please join us in our continuing efforts to give these canines a second chance at life.
